PRV is a government authority financed by fees. It has offices in Stockholm and Söderhamn, and around 380 employees. PRV is quality certified according to ISO 9001.

The Executive Management Team, the Patent Department and the Marketing Department are based in Stockholm and the Design and Trademark Department, with units for trademarks, designs, periodicals and personal names, is based in Söderhamn. PRV's consultancy operation PRV InterPat is based in both Stockholm and Söderhamn.
