New government commission
A commission to implement actions to increase IPR awareness among small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) through improved public support for the management of intellectual property.
In November 2011 the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV) and VINNOVA, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, were assigned by the government to strengthen Swedish SME's ability to manage their intellectual property as a strategic business tool. This will improve their chances of success in a global market. The joint assignment stretches over two years.
Most actions will be designed in such way that they can be made permanent if successful. Apart from addressing SMEs directly, business and innovation advisors will be the main target of the two-year commission.
