Customized novelty searches and monitoring services
We carry out novelty searches and monitoring of designs according to your specifications. Since the change in Sweden's design protection law in 2002, PRV no longer conducts a search and examination to determine the novelty of your design with respect to prior rights. That has meant a greater responsibility on you, as the applicant, to investigate whether your design differs from previously known and registered designs. Further, the change in the design protection law has meant that you, as the owner of the design rights, must be active in ensuring that no one infringes your rights. We can help you to monitor new registrations in both PRV's national register and in the OHIM/EU register.
Detailed reports
Our aim is to provide reports that are both thorough and informative. Each report contains a comprehensive summary, an analysis of findings and a list of relevant findings/extracts with comments. We can deliver reports in Swedish or English.
Delivery within 7 days or 24 hours
Delivery is by fax, post, email or FTP account. The report can also be encrypted. In the unlikely event that we do not deliver on time, delivery is free of charge. Express delivery within 24 hours is available for an additional fee of 2000 SEK. However, we reserve the right to decline a request for express delivery.
Register and database extractions
We can help you to get the information you need from our registers and databases. You may need just a few extractions or our IT department can assist you with larger requests. If you work with the large scale sale of information, you may be interested in buying all the information in our design database and then subscribing to weekly updates.

We aim to carry out all commissions accurately and thoroughly, but due to the extensive amount of information involved we cannot guarantee that the results are always exhaustive.
PRV InterPat is bound by professional secrecy with regard to every commission, as well as the results. The provisions for what must be kept secret are supported by chapter 31, section 12 of the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (2009:400). Documentation is delivered exclusively to the client.
Written specifications
In order to carry out our design search and monitoring services, we need certain information from you. We need one or more pictures showing the product concerned from different angles. For competitor monitoring, we need a list of your main competitors and/or a brief description of the product you want us to monitor.
