Changing the spelling
You must apply to PRV when you want to change the spelling of your surname, because it counts as a change of surname. One condition for a change of spelling to be approved is that the pronunciation must not change.
Example of a change of spelling
Peter has always spelled his surname Löwdahl, despite it being spelled Lövdahl in the population register. Now he wants the spelling that he considers to be the correct one put in all the official registers.
