What is a trademark?
A trademark is a distinctive indicator or sign which makes it possible to distinguish your goods and services from those of others. A good trademark, or logo, makes your particular product or service stand out. There are probably a number of trademarks which you choose to buy, just because you recognise them. A trademark is quite simply a way to create recognition with your customers.
Exclusive rights
Trademark protection gives you an exclusive right, which means that no one else has the right to use the trademark for their goods or services, or in their marketing.
Why trademark protection?
The difference between trademarks and company names
A trademark is a sign for products or services and is registered by PRV. A company name is the name of a registered company, which is registered by the Swedish Companies Registration Office.
