Sweden joins Convergence Programme 11

On April 14th, a new practice has been adopted by the EUIPO, CP11. Sweden implements the new practice on July the 1st, 2021.

The EU intellectual property offices cooperate within the framework of the convergence programmes. The purpose of the collaboration is to harmonize practices in the EU regarding various specific sub-areas of trademark and design law.

The authorities have now agreed on a common practice regarding new types of marks; sound-, motion-, multimedia- and hologram marks. The purpose is to identifying general principles for examination of formal requirements and grounds for refusal.
