Asian patent search services
The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the Swedish Intellectual Property Office (PRV) have a mutual agreement offering patent search services to our joint customers. PIPC (Patent Information Promotion Center) performs the searches.
A support to global users
The aim of the agreement is to support global users who have an interest in search services based on regional documents. The searches will be provided to customers with a specific interest in documentation from Japan, China, and Korea. The agreement provides a unique opportunity to extend their patent searches with information retrieved from databases that are usually difficult to cover.

Patent Information Promotion Center (PIPC)
The Patent Information Promotion Center (PIPC) is an affiliated public institute of KIPO. PIPC is responsible for assisting KIPO by providing prior art services used in the patent examination process. PIPC only handles search requests and reports in English.
Effective high quality Asian patent search
Many patent offices search for Asian patents such as Japan, China and Korea, but most of them have a hard time searching due to language differences. However, PIPC can help customers to find answers by its capability in using different languages.
KIPI has its own Patent Searching System, a search tool which is designed for Asian Patent searches. This search tool, that enables key word searching in multiple languages such as English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese, provides a more accurate search result. When performing a search, the Examiner does not rely on English abstracts or machine translations. Instead, KIPI uses original language characters to find full text documents.

What does it cost?
You will always get a personal quote on your order. The price depends on the estimated time required to carry out the exact information you need. Hourly price for consultancy services, SEK 1700.
