Indication of product and class
Indication of product
The indication of product that you state in the application should describe what type of product you want protection for. You cannot use words that describe the quality or characteristics of an item, such as “collapsible chair” or “folding box”. You can, on the other hand, use words such as “sun chair” or “transportation box”.
In your application, you need to state which class your design should be classified in. Depending on what type of product you want protection for, it will be assigned to a specific class. For example, if you want protection for a “chair”, the application will be classified in class 06-01.
By classifying the design, it is easier to search for a particular type of product in the design register and to be able to compare the design with others.
You can use the lists of classes below to search for the right class for your design:

If you cannot find the right class for your design, you can leave that information out and PRV will assign it to the appropriate class. However, if you do leave that information out, please submit an attachment specifying your product's area of use and function with the application.
