Easier to Search PRV’s Databases – New Interface and Faster Publication

On 26 January, PRV will launch several new systems to enable more efficient processing and publication of patent, trademark and design matters. One major improvement is the introduction of a single search entry point to PRV’s databases, making it easier for users to find relevant information. This upgrade is part of a larger transition to modern systems based on the latest technology.

The new solution offers a unified search interface for patents, trademarks, designs and municipal arms. By integrating the existing “File Inspection” service into the patent section of the database, all relevant information is gathered in one place. The new system streamlines the process and enables faster decisions and publication of granted patents.

Improvements for You as a User

  • A new common entry point to the Swedish Patent Database, Swedish Trademark Database, Swedish Design Database, and Database of Municipal Arms will be available on prv.se with modern features and an updated interface.
  • File Inspection will be integrated into the Swedish Patent Database.
  • The Swedish Patent Gazette will transition from a weekly PDF format to an online search solution for announcements. Announcements concerning national patents will be published daily in the new version of the Swedish Patent Database. This also applies to announcements for EP-validated patents and oppositions. Previously, announcements were published with a delay of up to five weeks.
  • Patent announcements will also remain accessible via the Swedish Patent Gazette entry point on prv.se.
  • National patent applications will now be handled in the same system used for PCT applications.
  • Decisions to grant a patent will be made available on the same day the decision is issued. As before, a physical copy of the “Decision to grant” will be sent to the customer by post. However, the decision will also be visible the same evening viaMy Pages – Patents SEand in the Swedish Patent Database.
  • Users can continue to follow the status of their case throughMy Pages – Patents SE, and can set up email or SMS notifications when updates occur – including for cases that are not yet public.
  • The new solution is accessible and can be used on mobile devices.

Beta Launch and Parallel Access

The new databases are presented as a new service under the name:
