EPO’s smartcard will be discontinued at the turn of the year
From 1 January 2026, the EPO smartcard will no longer work in PRV’s e-services. This means that you will no longer be able to use the smartcard to file applications in Web Filing for patents or to log in to My pages – Patent. Please note that the EPO card in Web filing of patent documents will stop working on 16 December 2025.

If you currently log in with a smartcard, you can instead use: BankID or PRV 2FA, our secure two-factor login.
With PRV 2FA you enter your personal identity number or foreign ID number and a password, then receive a one-time code by SMS or email.
Remember to check and, if needed, update the information about authorized users for your group ID.
Web Filing – patents
Here you log in with BankID or with a WIPO soft certificate. Users who have neither Swedish BankID nor a WIPO soft certificate are referred to Online Filing SE.

Login happens via an EPO account with two-factor authentication.
