The PRV school - Copyright

Copyright protects artistic creations such as music, film and literature. The protection cannot be applied for but arises automatically when the work is created.

What is copyright?

Copyright is more relevant today than ever, as almost all content on the internet is affected by it. It gives creators – such as authors, artists and musicians – the exclusive right to decide how their works are used, distributed and displayed, and it applies for 70 years after the creator’s death.

The protection covers many types of works, including texts, music, films, images and computer programs. In a digital age where material is shared quickly and widely, copyright plays a crucial role in safeguarding creativity and original expression.
