Online Filing – smart card
The software is issued by EPO and must be installed on a computer. To file documents with this software a smart card issued by EPO is needed.
The eOLF/epoline software can be used to:
- File national patent applications (SE application)
- Sign up /Register an authorised user for electronic communication in patent files (national and PCT). Attach the form:Appendix authorized user (135 kB)
as Other documents in your Online filing application in eOLF.
More information can be found under Questions and answers about patents - You can also register a group of authorized users by first applying for a Group ID where you specify which users are to be included. When you apply for a patent, you can register your Group-ID instead of registering one or more authorized users.

- File new EP applications as well as EP translations to us (for example EP validation)
- It is also possible to file additional documents in existing applications.
Keep in mind that documents relating to a defense secret invention or a potential defense secret invention should always be filed in paper format.

ePCT
PCT applications can be filed to us using the web based e-service called ePCT issued by WIPO. It is also possible to electronically file additional documents in existing PCT applications. New ePCT users have to create an ePCT account and upload either a soft certificate issued by WIPO or a smart card issued by EPO to the account.
Keep in mind that documents relating to a defense secret invention or a potential defense secret invention should always be filed in paper format.

Access communications digitally
A web-based e-service for following the processing of your patent application (national och PCT). Registering as an authorised user when filing a patent application. Once logged in, you will have access to information and communications relating to your patent applications (national och PCT) throughout our processing of them.

Here you can download documents in PDF format which have been cited in your PCT/ITS report or your technical notice. You will find your username and password on a separate sheet enclosed with the notice or the report.
