New practice regarding three-dimensional marks (shape marks) and webinar

On July 1,2020, Sweden joins a new EU practice developed within the framework of the EU Convergence Programme CP9.

The purpose of the new common practice is to establish a minimum threshold for the distinctiveness of three-dimensional marks (shape marks) when the shape itself cannot be registered but when the mark also contains verbal and/or figurative elements.

The new practice regarding three-dimensional marks is a part of a collaboration between EU’s intellectual property offices with the aim of developing common guidelines and approaches.
