PRV together with WIPO has trained more than 1000 senior officials from different countries since 2004. A new programme , ITP313a 2021, is now open for applications.
The training programme is prepared with the aim to facilitate understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of IP and its use as a tool for national development of innovation and the creative industries.
The programme will among other things explore the intersection of IP with other policy areas such as health, climate change, education, and agriculture and how to ensure coherent public policy responses to multifaceted development issues.
A strong focus is on implementation of different projects for change by the participants, which aims to promote national innovation, creativity and technological progress, in line with national priorities.
This is in order to secure sustainability and to introduce change in social, economic, cultural and scientific institutions by utilizing intellectual property as a tool for development. Another important feature is networking and community building.
The programme is organised by PRV in cooperation with WIPO and supported by Sida, as a part of implementation of Sweden’s development policies.
The following countries are invited to nominate candidates: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Laos, Malawi, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia
The training will be held 7-26 February with a follow-up meeting at 12-17 September, 2021. Last date for application is December 1, 2020.
